Alt Girl Cinema is co-presented with The Nothing Song, and will feature a live set after the screening! And local filmmaker Shelby Hadden will be in attendance to tell us about her latest film.

We’ll be showing SLUMS OF BEVERLY HILLS, starring Natasha Lyonne, and directed by Tamara Jenkins. In 1976, a lower-middle-class teenager struggles to cope living with her neurotic family of nomads on the outskirts of Beverly Hills. Possible Triggers: incest

Special guest Shelby Hadden will be in attendance to screen her latest short, MS.TEXAS SENIOR. Ms. Texas Senior is about the Ms. Texas Senior America Pageant.

Alt Girl deviates from the mainstream, screening contemporary art films across a plethora of genres, including horror, sci-fi, documentary, experimental, and more. Alt Girl stresses the importance of complex characters giving a multidimensional view of womanhood in today’s society. Alt Girl Cinema is presented by the Women's Community Center of Central Texas.
