Audre Lorde writes, “when I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid." The Women’s Community Center of Central Texas stands in solidarity with the members of our community, both locally and nationwide, as we face uncertain times. As we look to the future, we are fully committed to our mission of supporting the well-being of Texas women and girls, and building positive connections among similar people and organizations.
The Center recognizes many organizations may be reassessing priorities and adjusting plans in preparation for new political realities. We are here to listen, support, and work with others in unity. Our board and staff are ready to collaborate and build with organizations and people who serve the best interests of women and girls in Central Texas.
We will continue with the annual Women’s Empowerment Conference (WE Con) in the spring. We are reaching out to various organizations doing the important work of providing resources for women and girls in Central Texas. In conjunction with WE Con, we are launching a new program, Healing Through the Arts, to provide a safe place for collaboration, healing, and self-care. Please stay tuned for both programs, and let us know if your organization would like to be involved. Reach us at email@example.com.
